Hello future Jamaicans,

My name is Lezlee Anna Witmer. I live in the beautiful and
historic city of Lancaster, in Pennsylvania.
I am very exited to go on this adventure with each one of you, and can’t
wait to see you face-to-face.  I am the
second youngest of four children; I have two older brothers and one younger.
Currently I am home schooled, and reading over the other bios, I was surprised
to see how many of you guys are home schooled as well!   But that will change next year when I, out
of freewill, head to public school.  I am 15,
and as of today, I am done with my freshman year in high school! πŸ™‚

First off, I love working out, running, playing soccer (for
PA Classics), doing pushups, stretching (I love stretching!) etc. One of my
favorite things to do in the afternoon is head to my local YMCA and listen to a
wide variety of music while breaking a sweat. Something you should know about
me is that I am currently injured.  I tore my ACL
(it’s a ligament in your knee) in October of 2009, and in January of 2010
(don’t be confused, it is actually very rare to tare your ACL and even rarer to
tare it twice). Yesterday I was released by my Physical Therapist to run for
the first time in three months (yayyy!).
But on this trip I will be unable to play intense soccer. πŸ™  Second, I love reading and writing.  I am a huge fan of deep Christian writers
like CS Lewis, Philip Yancey, GK Chesterton etc.  I love personal stories, or real life books like The Scarlet
Letter, the one I’m reading now!  I also
read school based books for fun, like history books (like the big text books),
psychology books and more. You guys will probably witness me reading multiple
times on our trip. πŸ™‚  And, probably due
to all the books I read, I love writing: I’m a deep thinker.  My other favorite thing to do is being in my room in the evening with the windows open, one small light on, a
cat curled up on my bed, with my journal and a pile of books ready for the
reading. Absolute Bliss!

Now as for going to Jamaica, this is not the first time
going overseas, I have been to Guatemala twice (I have cousins who are
missionaries there) and to Canada.  I am
going on this mission’s trip because I really wanted to do something exiting
this summer that would challenge my faith, let me grow closer to my heavenly Father and allow me to meet new people.  I hope to get to know each of you personally
as we head on this adventure together. πŸ™‚
