Greetings Jamaica Team!
As most of you are aware, the US Department of State has recently issued a Travel Advisory for Jamaica due to current unrest in Kingston. AIM is very aware of the situation in Kingston and we are in constant communication with our host, Capt. Lyons, at the Salvation Army Orphanage. Capt. Lyons has assured us that they have not experienced any violence or resistance at the orphanage. The orphanage is located outside of Kingston and is not near the current violence. Capt. Lyons is very well known and well respected in Jamaica and he has a good relationship with the police.
If it becomes unsafe for our participants to minister at the orphanage in Kingston, we will change the trip to another location in Jamaica. We will keep you informed of any decisions made regarding the Jamaica mission trip. Please keep the Ambassador staff in your prayers as we seek God’s guidance for this trip.
